With eight days before the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) deadline minority communities are bracing for the impact.

Senator Ron Calderon (D-Montebello) today demand that the California Air Resources Board revisit its decision to close or fine up to 8-thousand gas stations in California April 1, 2009 if they have not installed new equipment to capture fumes from the gasoline they pump.

Sacramento, CA – Today the Responsible Clean Air Coalition (RCAC) announced that the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) has joined in calling on the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to extend the Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) Phase II regulation to April, 2010.

ARCADIA - Dozens, and potentially hundreds, of gas stations around California are choosing to shut down rather than comply with a state mandate that would require owners to purchase new equipment to reduce vapor emissions at the pump.
